7:45 p.m. Chairman Webster called both committees to order.

Members reviewed procedure to follow and then wanted to hear the search committee’s synopsis of the activities as a committee reviewing the 28 applicants (blind reviews) came to decision for 8 applicants to be interviewed by the Search Committee.  One withdrew and one’s schedule did not fit committee’s time table.  Each candidate was asked the same two questions in the same order.  Scripted questions by consent of the committee.  Actually interviewed 6 candidates.  Scoring of top 4 were passed along to the Selectmen for final interviews.

Before hearing from the Search Committee regarding background, talks with candidates’ town officials, Selectmen decided to request their comments only on Davis, Nunes and Donovan.  Each candidate was reported on totally by the Search Committee i.e. comments relayed from Superintendent of Schools, Finance Committee Chairs, Police and Fire Chief and Chairs of Selectmen.  Each Selectman asked further questions of the committee and then gave an oral evaluation of each candidate discussing strengths and weaknesses.  Consensus of the Selectmen was to concentrate on the applications of candidates Davis and Donovan with letters of thank you for interest in the position to be sent to Mr. Mullane and Mr. Nunes.
